Thomas Wall & Sons - Publication

Thomas Wall founded the Wigan Observer in 1853, in addition to the newspaper business the company moved into printing, responsible for several publications.

Probably their most successful publication was "The Science and Art of Mining", first produced in 1890.

The periodical was to increase their publishing business by the issuing of books, pamphlets and various booklets in support of  mining news and education.

The publication ceased in the 1960's, however publishing a forthightly publication for over 80 years bears testament to the success of Thomas Wall & Sons.
