Wigan Police - Scrapbook by William Matthews.
"Found in the belongings of my grandfather William Matthews born in 1926 in Droitwich. He was based close to Wigan during the Second World War and met his future wife at the Empress Ballroom. After the forces he entered the Wigan Borough Police Force and served 11 years before receiving an injury on duty. He decided he would go in to teaching and attended a college in Chorley to complete his qualification. It is not known whether this scrapbook was part of his police work or part of his studies at college however it makes interesting reading."
