Standish Heritage Trails

Standish is incredibly rich in history and heritage. Many historic sites still exist and there are plenty of reminders of lost heritage. 

These two trails were devised by Councillor John O’Neill in 1998. John was the original driving force behind Standish Community Forum. He is also a keen walker and local historian. He gave me paper copies of the trails a few years ago.  

Quite a bit had changed in Standish over the years, so Ron Wade and myself revised them and brought them up to date.  

We have produced two leaflets with the help of Standish Community Forum and Paul Frazer of Heron Marketing.
